Full programme of the 2023 edition
For the last 30 years, Each summer, CLSP organizes and hosts a few international teams for an intensive 6-week research workshop on speech and language engineering. These very successful workshops have had a widespread impact on the Human Language Technology community. Recently, we are beginning to experiment with broadening their reach to adjacent research communities.
In 2023, for its 30th edition, this workshop will be held in Le Mans, France from June 26th to August 4th. It will be co-hosted by the LIUM (Laboratoire Informatique de l'Université du Mans) and Allo-Media.
Each workshop team spends 6 weeks together (after some advance preparation), working in close proximity on some challenging problem or a promising solution technique that has not yet been well studied. Many teams have had a lasting influence on subsequent research and practice through the publications, software, and data that they produce. For many workshop participants, the biggest benefit is the interaction with other researchers, seeding new and lasting collaborations.
The workshops also contribute to the pool of trained specialists in the fields of speech and natural language processing by providing immersive training to undergraduate and graduate students, allowing researchers from different backgrounds to learn from one another, and educating all workshop participants through guest lectures, participant seminars, and team research updates.
Workshop topics are chosen through an unusual process of Interactive Peer Review. Initial 1-page proposals are broadly solicited early the previous fall; those that survive a screening are invited to a weekend retreat where they are presented, debated and fleshed out.
The workshop is preceded by a 2-week summer school in Human Language Technology, run for the benefit of the student participants and other attendees. Each day of the summer school features two invited lecturers and an all-afternoon hands-on lab exercise.

A travel document in good condition, issued less than 10 years ago, valid for at least three months after the date on which you have planned to leave the Schengen Area.
2 recent ID pictures in ISO/IECI format (pdf)
The supporting documents (originals and copy) depending on your situation and your plan
Important : Documents in languages other than French or English may be required to be translated into French.
Your application fees are due upon filing.
If your home country is eligible, you must fill out the online application form.
Make an appointement with the visa application center.
Make sure you allow enough time before your departure date to schedule an appointment to have your application reviewed.
You must attend your appointment with all the required documents. Also bring a copy of each document, including the passport and a copy of its ID pages.
All visas issued by France are biometric visas.

You must take out insurance covering your civil liability for the occupation of the premises and be liable for any damage or loss occurring in the premises you will use.
